Constructed by cloning a 1.084 kb HhaI fragment of HBV into pBR322

This clone was constructed by isolating a 1.084 kb HhaI fragment from pTHBV containing the coding sequence for the surface antigen without pre-surface antigen. This was blunt-ended with T4 DNA polymerase, linkered with HindIII, and inserted into pBR322.
