Region specific library constructed by microdissection of metaphase chromosomes, complete digestion with MboI, followed by PCR amplification and subcloning of amplification products.
Approximately 94% of unique sequences were derived from chromosome 2, as determined by hybridization. Half of the clones contain repetitive sequences and all repetitive sequences are human and chromosome 2 specific.
The library is estimated to be 97% pure.
Approximately half of the clones in the library contain unique or low-copy number inserts.
The mean insert size is 130 bp.
