The levels of serum periostin may be an indicator of tumor invasion and progression in patients with thymoma and nonsmall cell lung carcinomas (NSCLC).

Comments

The antibody reacts with periostin, a secreted protein. The levels of serum periostin may be an indicator of tumor invasion and progression in patients with thymoma and nonsmall cell lung carcinomas (NSCLC).

Animals were immunized with Fc-TCG1, which is similar to periostsin.

Spleen cells were fused with Sp2/0-Ag14 mouse myeloma cells.

Complete Growth Medium

The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium, Catalog No. 30-2002. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.

Subculturing

Protocol: Cultures can be maintained by the addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension at 1 to 2 X 10(5) viable cells/ml.

Medium Renewal: Add fresh medium every 2 to 3 days (depending on cell density)

Note: Maintain cell density between 1 X 10(5) and 1 X 10(6) viable cells/ml.

Cryopreservation

Freeze medium: A 1:1 mixture of culture medium and fetal bovine serum, 90%; DMSO, 10%

Storage temperature: liquid nitrogen vapor phase
